Splain retires, vacates No. 23 ride
It hit the garage area like a bomb even though rumors had spread already when the No. 23 team's hauler lot remained empty on Thursday morning at Pocono Raceway. On Friday, NEPA Motorsports announced that team owner and No. 23 Sirius Satellite Ford driver Tom Splain retires from racing immediately.

Preview: Pocono
The clock is ticking and the inaugural 'Chase for the Championship' is getting closer in the eDimensional Cup Series. After this weekend's Pennsylvania 300 there will be only five more races for drivers to clinch a spot in the top-8 in driver points and with that a spot in the ten-race post-season.

David Topie: Biography
Over the past three years, David Topie has been gathering valuable experience over the course of several racing series before he eventually caught the eye of team owner Trish Lawrence. Late in 2006 he was hired to drive the team's brand new No. 11 Ford Fusions in the eDimensional Cup Series with Rockwell Automation as the primary sponsor.
By April of the year however the No. 11 team ran into troubles and Topie left the team to join Fischer Racing, driving the No. 5 EMBARQ Chevrolet. This paid off quickly as Topie became friends with everybody at Fischer Racing and was able to access his potential in better ways than before. In 2007 this ultimately led to a hard fought season and a first Cup championship. |
